Catherine Blando
Catherine Blando, Program Administrator for Curriculum Development at The Connie Belin & Jacqueline N. Blank International Center for Gifted Education and Talent Development, currently serves on the Board of Trustees for Young Parents Network (YPN), a United Way funded agency affiliated with Four Oaks and Mercy Hospital (Cedar Rapids).
Young Parents Network provides prenatal, pregnancy, and post-pregnancy service to young mothers and fathers. Services include outreach, education, counseling, and support group meetings for parents and parents-to-be across several counties in Eastern Iowa. The Network has been in existence for approximately 20 years.
The YPE Board of Trustees recently concluded a successful major capital campaign. Ms. Blando has served on the Board for six years.
Ms. Blando also serves on the Strategic Planning Oversight Committee for Waypoint Services (formerly YWCA of Cedar Rapids and Linn County). Prior to her work on this committee, she served for six years on the Waypoint Board of Directors.
