Lindsay Eaves-Johnson
Lindsay Eaves-Johnson, a graduate student in the Department of Anthropology at the UI, is an active participant in several outreach programs. She has visited local high schools to aid in biology laboratories covering human evolution as well as serving on the national education committee of the American Association of Physical Anthropologists which sets the high school curriculum in forensic anthropology, and presented this new curriculum to high school teachers locally and nationally.
Eaves-Johnson is a charter member of Iowa Citizens for Science and a member of the National Center for Science Education. Creating an interactive booth, “Playing with Prehistoric Peoples: Adventures in Anthropology” for the Iowa State Fair in 2003 and 2004, is yet another way in which she has made her expertise available to the public.
Additionally, Ms. Eaves-Johnson is an animal foster parent for Another Chance for English Setters and Illinois Bird-dog Rescue as well as a regular volunteer at the Iowa City Animal Care and Adoption Center.
