The University of Iowa Mobile Clinic is an interdisciplinary student-run free clinic that serves Iowans in and around the Iowa City area. Nearly every weekend the Mobile Clinic volunteers provide healthcare to underserved Iowans. More than 600 patients have been seen since the first clinic in 2002. The Mobile Clinic offers medical screenings, preventative services, and health education. In addition to student volunteers, healthcare professionals from the colleges of medicine, nursing, and pharmacy serve as mentors and guides, working regularly at the weekend clinics to teach assessment and education techniques.
